Having enjoyed Alex North’s previous books, I was excited to dive into The Angel Maker. Unfortunately this one is so hard to follow along with.

It has multiple points of view plus alternating timelines that just result in a lot of confusion. I saw a few reviewers note this before I started listening to the audiobook, so I tried hard to pay close attention and keep the characters straight. Unfortunately, it was still too complicated. I shouldn't have finished because by the end of the book I had no idea what what was happening and couldn't tell you which characters were involved in which storyline.

If you're looking for a thriller, I would pass on this one. It has a unique concept but the execution is not good, and enjoying a thriller should not be this hard.

Thank you Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for my advance audiobook copy in exchange for an honest review.
