Alex North knows exactly what to write to creep me out! I couldn’t put The Angel Maker down yet I wanted to because it was creepy and disturbing. I did appreciate that North references some things without giving gory details.
However, it is a dark book. It is sad and disturbing and creepy and compelling. It's also a fascinating look into a sibling relationship that has faced some serious challenges. The relationship between Katie and Chris is so complicated due to a major event in their lives and they both deal with it in their own separate ways.
I’ll read anything North writes. The Whisper Man kept me awake at night and I really enjoyed The Shadows. This is a great thriller that will keep you turning the pages and sleeping with one eye open. I know people like to save certain books for the fall around Halloween. The Angel Maker would be the perfect book for that!
