“If you could see the future, would you want to?”

A question that many people have asked. I’m not sure what my answer is.

Bloody Hell! My poor brain went into overdrive following the large list of cunning characters as they traveled through several time periods. This chilling and dark psychological thriller is layered with evil, violence, murder, intense family emotion, and shocking twists.

Reading this made me realize it’s been too long since I’ve read an Alex North book! There are many good thriller writers but he is one of the great! “The Whisper Man” is one of my all-time favorite reads and “The Angel Maker” has the same wicked vibe. And that cover….a striking sample of the evil inside!

Katie makes a selfish decision. One that has extreme consequences. The first time she doesn’t walk her brother home from school, he is attacked by a man who tries to cut his face off. Chris survives but is left physically disfigured and mentally damaged. After years of drug abuse and homelessness, a stranger offers a home, a job, and encouragement. He feels like he has his life back. And then the man is murdered.

Katie is informed that Chris is missing. She knows better than to get involved, but she begins to look into Chris’ life and opens a Pandora’s Box of shocking secrets. This is just the beginning…

I dare you to put this book down after reading the unnerving and mesmerizing Prologue!

Thank you to Bookish First for this gifted ARC. All opinions are my own.
