I don't know how Alex North does it, but he turns the complety normal situation into the scariest possible scenario -- and I can't stop reading it! His characters seem like people you might know from work or the neighborhood, yet you pray the whole time that you don't actually know anyone like this. Also, love that cover! Even better if there are little sparkles from the match flame. This is immediately going on my wishlist for 2023.
