I was expecting the book to kick off really hard at the beginning. I remember reading excerpts of previous Alex North books and getting creeped out really early on. I think this one is just too slow of an opening for me.
I wouldn't read more to find out what happens next. I'm sure the book will have a lot more going on as it progresses, but this wasn't the fast-paced thriller start I was hoping for when I read the first look.
