"Suspense" novels have become a dime a dozen in recent years, with a lot of repeated themes, concepts, and even cover designs that make it hard to remember which is which. So it is obviously refreshing to run across something like this, that has a storyline and idea that I have yet to see in any other novel. I am intrigued beyond words, especially given the obvious intention of the author to tackle the topics of guilt and trauma within the confines of the main plot. Add to that the impressive and evocative language and this one is sure to be well worth the read.
