I follow EK Johnston on social media and she is amazing! I have been excited to read this book. The excerpt starts out with a fairy tale involving an old god and new gods. There's a quest and even a happily ever after, but the chapters after that show the aftermath. I'm very interested to see how this story plays with fantasy quest tropes. The characters are great. I love the amount of female knights and heroes. There's a lot of storytelling within the story itself, as well. I'm interested how meta the book becomes. I will definitely be picking up a copy of this book when it is released.
