This book completely messed with my mind in the best way possible. There are so many secrets to unpack and it was satisfying when all the pieces clicked into place. There are little cookie crumbs all throughout the novel. I can’t imagine how much planning went into this book! I also loved that the story was told through multiple perspectives in an original way. Rather than shifting between different characters, the reader has the pleasure of experiencing the events of one day over and over through the mind one character who lives in the body of different hosts. Each host plays a crucial role in the plot and their experiences allow the narrator to move towards the ultimate goal of solving Evelyn Hardcastle’s murder. This unique storytelling mechanism made the story incredibly engaging. My only criticism is that portions of the book incorporated fat shaming. I would have given the book five stars had those portions of the book been less discriminatory.
