7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle reminded me of an Agatha Christie novel, and yet the story felt unique. From the opening scene, I was hooked. The main character doesn’t know who he is. He doesn’t recognize his body, and he thinks he witnessed a murder. Different characters are introduced, but who is trustworthy and who is dangerous? It was atmospheric and compelling. Clues are discovered and uncovered building the suspense, and holding the reader’s interest. I want to know more about the main character, who he is, and how he fits in with the murder mystery. The story is well-written. The writing is crisp and intriguing. I was fully engaged from the opening paragraph, and I was disappointed when the excerpt ended.
