What a Concept!
Mysteries are one of my absolute favorite genres. In fact, one of my all time favorite books is And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. However, I can be harsh with the genre itself. It a mystery has too many red herrings or twists, it becomes over complicated and unbelievable. On the other hand, if I open up a mystery and can immediately guess who done it, I’m likely to put it right back down.
The Seven and a half deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle has such a unique premise. I adore the protagonist getting to clues through actually living days in the bodies of different guests to figure out the murderer. The author hooked my immediately with this storyline. I think there were points in which the novel could have been condensed slightly, but overall I found the writing style to be good and would recommend this to any mystery lover.
