The premise of this book promised us adventure, mystery, and a thrill that would follow us throughout the novel, ever present. I imagined this book as complex, with characters who would be memorable, and writing so intricate it would blow my mind, and take away my breath. I imagined a plot easy to follow, characters lovable, writing that would make me jealous, but leave me amazed. However, this book was a disappointment. The characters were average, the plot was basic and predictable, and the writing was so boring I couldn’t keep up. I’m by no means someone who can’t be easily pleased when it comes to books; I rarely give books less than a 3 star rating, and if it happens, it rarely happens. I read a wide range of genres, and I’m not hard to please. But this book was a let down, and I felt disappointed. I feel like it could’ve been much better.
