This book's concept is incredibly unique. It's like a murderous Groundhog's Day. If you haven't seen the movie and don't understand the reference....imagine living the same day over and over again. Here we need to figure out who killed Evelyn Hardcastle, but each day, we wake up as a different player in the game. And if you don't figure out who the killer is by the end... you start over...and you're stuck in this purgatory until you can prevent the murder and set yourself free.
I listened to this book on audio, and I have to say, at first, I was just a tad lost, but so intrigued.
With every chapter, I wasn't sure whose shoes or body I would be in as the reader. Was I a good character today, or a bad one? And how will my actions change the course of events during the day, until the web can finally be untangled and Evelyn saved? The author did a great job of really putting me in the mindset of the characters. At times I was anxious just listening to them struggle to figure it all out. This book would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for the ending. The ending was underwhelming and I felt like it was phoned in. I had much higher hopes for it.
