Have you ever read a book that is completely different from what you thought from the synopsis? ME! This actually happens quite frequently for me and can go both ways. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it ends in utter disaster. So, it was refreshing to have a book that gave me exactly what I was expecting. We know very little going into this book and I think that sets us up perfectly for this crazy ride. Grab a large carafe of coffee, your notebook and settle in for a wild ride.

What we know; “Evelyn Hardcastle will be murdered at 11:00 p.m. There are eight days, and eight witnesses for you to inhabit. We only let you escape once you tell us the name of the killer. Understood? Then let’s begin…”

What we don’t know right away is who is playing this game. Why him? Why now? What is the purpose of this crazy game? As the story unravels we are introduced to the eight witnesses as well as other guests and servants of Blackheath. The more the book progresses the crazier it gets and my head was definitely spinning at times. This really is such a clever read. The plot is so intricate and makes for a fun puzzle to put together.

4 stars for this Complex, Dark and Unique debut novel. Fans of Agatha Christie are going to want to read this one!
