The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle is probably one of the more twisted mysteries that I've read this year. It started with a twist and ended with a twist. I didn't really like some of the final twists in the book but that's just me. The ending was still acceptable, I just didn't like it.

That being said, I loved just about everything else. The characters were very realistic and I liked the depth that they all had to them. Given the nature of the book, all of the characters would have this extra depth. No one was truly bad and no one was truly good. Everyone were in that spectrum of gray that most people these days fit in. I loved that aspect of the book, I liked that we were able to see into the lives of so many different characters. It's a rare find in a book.

I like the progression of the plot also, yes, there were some parts that were slower than others but I felt that those parts were very necessary. While I was reading the slower parts I found myself getting anxious for Aiden because I knew something was going to happen right after. I liked the fact that the main character started the book the same way we did, blind. Aiden didn't know who he was or what was going on and neither did we. It was kind of like an even playing field in a way.

Overall, I really loved this book, the only thing that bumped down my rating was the ending. But that's just me.
