(Review of first chapter extended preview)
Of all the books in a bookstore, I would never, in a million years, pick this book off the shelf as even a 4th or 5th choice. The title and book cover, in my opinion, were not too intriguing.
However, I was given this book preview to read and I was captivated after the first few sentences.
This book appears to focus on a kind-hearted (though young) police officer and it seems the book is filled with mystery, crime, and murder while also providing the personal story of a young woman finding her place in a predominantly male profession.
I really enjoyed our female protagonist as well as the side characters (both good and no5 as good) and this is a book that I will be adding to my Goodreads bookshelf.
