Linda LaPlante is one of my favorite authors. I have watched on tv anything that she has written. The Tennison storyline is long as there are quite a few books about her, plus the Tennison series on tv was my favorite.
Tennison is a prequel to the Prime Suspect series. A young cheeky WPC who just graduated from Metropolitan Police Training Academy. Women in the '70s had a real struggle being accepted and respected as policewomen. Jane struggled with this as well and had to really prove her talent to the men in her unit. The British always tell a good suspenseful story and Lynda LaPlante is among the best storyteller. She is able to keep the reader wanting more and to keep turning the pages. I really loved this book!
