Another great book by Lynda La Plante. An interesting prequel to all of the previous Jane Tennison novels. I found it a little slow at the beginning, but the pace picked up and I couldn’t put it down. This is a relatively long novel, but once you get into the story, it keeps your attention. There were two main story lines with twists and turns. The relationships between Jane and her fellow officers were interesting. You can understand how she developed into the person she is in later books. I also found some of the family background very interesting. It was very interesting to read about what life was like in a London police station in the early 1970s. I have never seen the PBS series about Jane Tennison, but I may have to check it out.
