I was not familiar with Jane Tennison, did not know there are previous books and a T.V. show about her. But now that I am, I will definitely be reading more by this author and more books about Jane. The book started out a little slow but had a good build up towards the end that I did not see coming. Jane is a great character, I know this is just her first few cases we saw and she has great potential to grow as a character, which I guess she already has done as there are books about her when she is older. I really liked Kath and I am sad I won't get to read more about her. The male cop characters seemed stereotypical but I think they probably were really like that, especially in the 70's. I am excited to read more about Jane trying to make it in a predominately male world.
