I didn’t really find this story very appealing. The main character doesn’t seem to know how to stand up for herself. She lets all of the male characters push her around. I can already tell that this John character she met is going to play an important part in the main mystery of this story. It also seemed like there should have been page breaks in between certain sections when there weren’t. For instance, after she gets thrown out of Renee’s apartment by John, the narrative switches from Jane’s POV to John/Renee’s. There wasn’t really any transition. I would not be interested in reading the rest. I also feel like the title should have something to do with the mystery since it already lists in small print that this is a Jane Tennison thriller; the title seems redundent and tells us nothing about the story. The blurb doesn’t really give any hint to the crime she will be solving either. It is too vague.
