The story begins like the book Rebecca so you know there will be mystery and suspense. Corie, the main character, is smart, efficient, and a good investigator. She becomes suspicious of Pete and with her dad's and others help, she begins looking into his life. She has that gut feeling he is up to no good. Meanwhile, the story delves into her relationship with her new husband and marriage and the angst that follows when living in a home decorated by another woman. A good addition to the story are some wonderful humorous lines to ease the tension. The story could have moved faster had there been less back story concerning other characters and events. The story could have done with fewer F-words.
