Not for me

I have never read anything by Susan Isaacs before so was unsure of her style of writing. I was really anxious to read Takes One to Know One as the plot looked really interesting, with so many directions the book could have taken. Unfortunately, I think perhaps this author is just not for me. This book basically goes almost 200 pages without much happening. Yes, the main character, Corie, is working on figuring out what Peter is up to...if anything. It just takes so long for her do dig up any information on him. Goodness knows, she is an ex-FBI agent, I hope the real agents work much faster. The actual action in this book could have taken place in half as many pages with much less description of things that had nothing to do with the plot. Please take my opinion lightly as I read a great many thrillers and am used to a very quick pacing instead of a slow burn. Still, I liked the story idea and would be very willing to try another book by this author in the future.
