One of the Strangest Books I've ever Read
This is one of the strangest books I've ever read, and I mean that in the best way possible. I was SO confused at first but in the second half, the story really picked up and I kinda figured out what was going on. That being said, I don't know if I'm smart enough for this book –– I think a missed a lot of the metaphors/small bits of nuances. I'm no psychology expert, so a lot of that definitely went over my head.
There were also... strange plotlines that I'm not really sure why they were included. The one about the sister is never really resolved. Who is she? Does she exist? She never appears in the novel, doesn't have a name, and we only know about her in stories about her antagonism. Also, I won't get specific because of possible triggers (possible tw for this book for implied/mentioned pedophilia??) but WHY was that necessary. It didn't really add to the plot and could have been something else that would have worked in the bigger story.
Overall, I liked it. This book was unlike anything I've ever read. I'm giving it a solid three stars. Not my favorite, but certainly unique.
