I feel like this is the type of book I might need to read a second time in order to truly make all the connections the author is after.
The stopping of time is a perfect metaphor for how the pandemic feels. My 19 year old son said today that he read that in terms of cynicism, political activism, etc. people his age have "grown up" about 16 years in their attitudes in these past two years. I believe it and I think Switch really gave the reader this kind of feeling.
However I had a very hard time visualizing the boxes built and being torn down inside of the house. I get that they were symbolic, but in-universe they were supposed to be real and I am at a loss when I tried to connect to that part of the story. I got hung up of the literal-ness of it, I guess.
So, again, I may need to try to read this again BUT there are so many other books in the world that I don't know when that will be.
