I loved the idea for this storyline, having a book set in a world where everything is the same as before except for the fact that time has completely stopped. I was a bit confused as to how exactly this worked as in the book it is described as seasons still changing, the sun still rising and setting, and people still growing and dying, the only difference being that no clocks tick and no alarms ring. My first impression of this was the book being a slight nod to society's immense dependence on technology and a need to have a constant tracker on our everyday lives, yet this story shows us how even without these things, the world still turns.

The writing itself was confusing to begin with but after about 20 pages it became easier to follow. I do like how the seemingly unnatural use of backslashes actually added to the story as a look into the main character's thoughts and how nothing she was thinking was fully clear; it really did seem like reading the unorganized thoughts of a person.

Overall, it was a well written book, and I would recommend it to anyone willing to read a novel that will really getting them thinking.
