This book doesn’t really fit into any categories that most readers would recognize — it’s puzzling—not futuristic, not dystopian, may not be YA, but could be?? Anyway, first impressions left me wishing that the author had developed the preamble and backstory to the real story a bit more fully. Despite a rocky start, hopefully the story will take off as it gathers momentum!
