The author's writing is choppy - short, sometimes punchy sentences. The occasional sentence seems to have been written in verse. A fair amount of what the protagonist, teen Truda Becker, says about time and the experience of it went right over my head.
The cover is cool; though I'm not sure I understand what the topsy-turvy houses signify. "Switch" corresponds to a switch in Truda's house that no one touches (her dad having built boxes around it to protect it).
