I think I would describe my feelings about this book as thinking that it was overall ok. I didn't hate it, but I also didn't love it. It was pretty middle of the road for me. If you're already a fan of David Nicholls, then you're more likely to like it than those new to him.

It will hit pretty hard in the nostalgia feels. The book itself actually has a pretty good sum up of what it's about, and I don't think it spoils anything, so I'll just let it describe itself: "This is a love story, though now that it's over it occurs to me that it's actually four or five, perhaps more: familial and paternal love; the slow-burning, reviving love of friends; the brief, blinding explosion of first love that can only be looked at directly once it has burned out." I read that, and thought - yep, that's the book.

I was a little slow at times, but overall I did enjoy it, and think it would be worth your time.
