Disappointing
Well, I'm not really sure how to say this but I was so looking forward to reading this book as I read his previous book, One Day, and enjoyed it quite a bit!
The synopsis sounds fantastic - "A bittersweet and brilliantly funny coming-of-age tale about the heart-stopping thrill of first love - and how one summer can forever change a life." However, I finally gave up and stopped trying to force myself to read it in just under 100 pages. I tried, I really did.
I found this book to be incredibly boring and even quite confusing at times with the way the main character jumps back and forth in time, or has flashbacks with no warning whatsoever. Not to mention the writing is far too wordy - taking 20 words to say what could be said in 5...
If I could sum this up in one word, it would be BORING.
