Definitely sweet with a mix of sorrow.
I have to say overall I really did enjoy this book.
The beginning was a bit slow but once you get into the plot the book moves along quite fast.
David Nicholas's writing is beautifully poetic. I had to pause from reading a few times to go back to some lines that took my breathe away.
I loved that the book was about Romeo and Juliet and at the same point not at all. Shakespeare played a big role in the characters lives that one summer but it stayed with them through the rest of their lives. It wasn't about just the story line of the play but of the character development as well.
The facts that while doing the play the characters found themselves mirrored inside of Shakespeare's work. Charlie learned confidence and self respect. How to cope with his life.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to a friend.
