Sweet Sorrow is a completely nostalgic story set in one eventful summer between the end of school and beginning of adulthood and/or college. While I think many will be able to relate to the high emotions of facing an unknown future and raging teenage hormones (and main character Charlie is struggling with additional issues of becoming the caretaker of his father's mental health after his parents' separation), this brought back big memories of my last semester of high school and being in Romeo and Juliet just as these characters are, as well as summers at theater camp where we were chronically unsupervised and running wild. Set in the mid 90s, it really captured the era as well as some of the more enduring behaviors of teens.
