Sweet Sorrow initially started off a little slow, but then it engulfed me in a cute and light hearted story of first love and a coming of age story that shows the durability and persistence of love. This book gave me warm fuzzes but also made me sad for the lost loves. David Nicholls dives explores a complicated father-son relationship, friendships. It was interesting how he intertwined scenes from the play Romeo and Juliet to parallel the current conflicts in the book.
I do not reread many books, but I would definitely reread this book. I was sad to finish this book because I wanted to keep reading it. It was a great read overall. I feel that anyone who wants a good romantic story that is not predictable but also feels like a book that would be a good book to grab from yourself and recommend to a friend. This book would also be good for book clubs. Thank you for this great book!
