Parting is Not Sorrowful
Maybe it's because this book is British, or maybe not, but it just feels pretentious - cool by deliberately not trying to be cool. Carefully chosen words meant to convey the self-importance of teenagers at a pivotal stage in their life not knowing what they want to do when forced to move on. I can't say that Charlie impresses me, whether that's his (and the author's) intent or not.
