I actually enjoy reading books that flip between the main characters younger self and their current (older selves). It's always nice to be able to see how time has changed who they are and how their perspective on life changes. I did find that the intro to this story did seem to drag a bit. I did find the cover of the book really interesting and so that's why I wanted to read the book. This is definitely a book that would have a slow start that you will need to just push past it.
