This is a cookbook with attitude.What I really enjoyed is that, at its core, it is a cookbook with heart. The photographs are flashy and the self-help aspect of it was an interesting twist. The imagery and colors really draw you in and the sweets look delicious to come back to even after your heart has healed.
The writing style was interesting and I think that it will capture the attention of a teenager. It definitely caters to the "Instagram crowd." The type of person who is enamored by vivid colors and filters. It is a fun ride that seems to take a little too long to get to the cake. I felt that a small sample of a recipe would have been a great start to lead in to the witty healing and additional recipes. I would definitely check this out at the library, but I am not sure if I would actually purchase it for my daughter's broken heart.
