This is such a clever take on a cookbook - combine snark and wit with delicious dessert recipes. Even using this as a traditional cookbook - looking up and reading one recipe at a time - the notes the author makes will make you smile. The names she gives the desserts, the commentaries about love gone wrong...all of it adds to a cookbook strong in its own right. I found at least a dozen recipes I'm eager to try, and I appreciate that the author rates each one by difficulty, so I can decide whether it's one I can tackle. The photos are gorgeous, and the extra baking/cooking tips are an added bonus. It certainly is not your average, boring cookbook! This would be a perfect gift for a baker, especially a teen or young adult.
