As an adult, Sweet Revenge was all about the recipes. That it contains sweet confections, light desserts, and all-around deliciousness has nothing to do with it. I swear! :-) Along with the recipes, this author has some witty, quirky, and downright vengeful anecdotes for the recently dumped or betrayed young adult. All with a little food-inspired tongue-in-cheek.

The recipes were mostly slightly altered versions of desserts we've known and loved with just a few not so known. Of those I attempted, Milk Bread Rolls, Nobody's Butter Cup, and the Devil's Food Cake were a few faves. I enjoyed the creative play on words with her recipe names. The author had some different, but tempting recipe alterations like Black Tea Shortbread and Butter Pound Cake with Sriracha. I'll definitely be trying the shortbread in the future. Some recipes had no appeal, but that goes with the territory. I love Monster Cookies, but this author's version was a little immature and unappetizing for my tastes with the addition of Nacho Cheese Doritos and Cap'n Crunch cereal. All-in-all, it's a recipe book that is definitely worth a look with more pleasing recipes than not.
