I sadly have to say that I have placed this book as a "Did Not Finish." When I read my first impression of the book it seemed interesting and I wanted to read more, but as I continued to try and read, I became disinterested more and more. The writing was still flavorful though, but the story ended up turning too slow for me. I felt the emotions MacDonald was trying to convey and I truly saw the pathos she incorporated. I believe that because I have no family that is adopted or know of anyone that placed a child up for adoption, I can not fully grasp the concept and sympathize to the fullest. I did love the humor Marylee presented me as a reader with. I laughed out loud several times before I committed to not finishing this memoir. As always, I wish the best of luck to Marylee MacDonald in the success of her book and am looking forward to seeing the good ratings flood in. Since, even though I could not finish the book myself, It is a story many people can and will enjoy.
