Marylee MacDonald transports us back to the 1960s where she finds herself falling for a young Catholic man and then unexpectedly becomes pregnant. This memoir was deep and touching and also humorous at many points. She has a wonderful way with words and I loved hearing about her journey and how she came to her decisions in life.

She was an adopted child and she gave her child up for an adoption so she had such a unique view of adoption that I liked seeing. I liked exploring how adoption shaped her life, her parents life and her own decisions. I had so much empathy for what she had to go through as a child herself when making decisions that would change everything going forward.

The writing was excellent and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in a deep and personal memoir with some humor and lessons to learn along the way!
