Heartwarming
I was very excited to read this book as I don't read many memoirs. Being pregnant myself right now, this elicited a lot of emotion for me. I really enjoyed how the author took us through the entire story beginning in her teenage years and extending to recent times. She thoroughly told the story of becoming pregnant and and what she went through to arrive at putting her baby up for adoption. It was so enlightening to hear how times were so different back then and the lengths and her and her family went through to hide the pregnancy. I can't believe having to relocate and live in a home for unwed mothers until my baby had arrived! I also enjoyed hearing her stories about how her relationship with the baby's father evolved. Being so young and going through years of trying times was so captivating. My only criticism of the book is that the chapters jumped back and forth in time quite a bit. There were times I was on a train of though and often got hung up as a new chapter started.
