I’m not a wordy person, so I am going to keep this short and sweet. This book changed my view of life. As a young(er) reader, I don’t tend to pick up memoirs and those that I pick up, I don’t normally enjoy. I finished this book in a day. It was so so beautiful and heart-wrenching. I will definitely be reading more from Marylee MacDonald in the future.
I could feel every emotion that was put onto the pages. I cried my eyes out, but in some sections I was also grinning like a fool. The writing was so beautiful and elegantly written. The story was portrayed in such a smart way that brought the reader along through each part of the journey. I believe this story is good for younger readers as well as adults to gain perspective and grow. Beautiful, beautiful work.
