I found the subject of this memoir to be very interesting!! MacDonald writes her characters very vividly, making it easier to picture each one as they appear. While very bluntly written, the subject matter and the suddenness to all events in the book made it a very interesting and fast read. As someone with 2 adopted cousins, I found the information shared in the book absolutely fascinating and had me learn so much about adoption straight from birth. While not a typical book I'd read, I greatly enjoyed the arc we received.
