This book is a science fiction novel with strong psychological undertones. Here is the plot: because of an astronomical event, everyone over the age of thirteen on Earth will die in a few months. Humanity needs to prepare the children of the world to take over and run everything. While things seem like they are going to be alright, things quickly fall apart. This book gave me sci-fi Lord of the Flies vibes. Without spoiling too much, I will say this: this book gave me a lot to think about, but I was slightly disappointed by the lack of scientific explanation. It is a science fiction novel, but it almost read like a psychological thriller. The plot was similar to a lot of YA novels I have read, but the execution was better. Overall, the story was pretty good!
