I wasn't sure at first what to think about this book but then I read the preview. Within the first few sentences i was hooked. There is a fair bit of scientific lingo but it is explained quite well so even a Luddite like me can understand what is transpiring. I can't wait to see what happens when the children are truly in charge of everything. This is the kind of story that makes you think what if it really happened? How would I handle it if I were an adult? What if I were a child, what would I do? What would my child do?

I'm not sure how to word this but if I was not told that this book was not written in English (my only language), I would not have known. I have read quite a few translated novels. Some like this one is so smooth; others may have things that seem a little awkward, it is a little hard to understand or some sentences may seem choppy; one was quite difficult to read because the sentences were uneven and the tenses, transitions, etc made it hard to really understand what was going on. Translation is so much more than just "substituting" one word for another. You can't just insert one word for another and expect it to suffice. A good translator is familiar with the cultures and social mores associated with both languages and their lands. There is much that is unspoken in any writing, the intention of the author must be considered as well. Perhaps the fact that the translator and the original author seem to have worked together before is why this is such a successful collaboration.

The cover is good, it gives a real feeling of excitement and movement.
