For any readers who think they are not die-hard science fiction fans, you must give this book a chance because you will be hooked. The interspersed astronomical discoveries and realistic climate-induced changes to planet Earth add that believable quality to this future world. I found myself thinking that something like this really could happen. Although the preview pages were generous, I certainly do not know where this book is headed. What on earth will a world ruled by children under the age of 13 be like and how can they possibly know enough, soon enough to keep the world going. Are all of the adults simply going to be killed? If so, by whom? I liked the fact that the book began with a lengthy cast of characters; I felt as if I knew some of the children in the special classroom as soon as they appeared for the first time.
