When I started this book, I wasn't sure what to expect. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. I really like the main character, Sunny, right from the start. He was super relatable, especially for someone like me who has always been called weird or a nerd. He really resonated with me. I totally understood his desire to be someone else.
The growth of Sunny from the beginning to the end of this novel is what really made it stand out for me. There were a lot of laugh out loud moments and some that made me sad. David Yoon portrayed the teenagers perfectly, right down to their inner struggle to accept themselves.
This is a fabulous young adult novel and one that I highly recommend. This is the first David Yoon novel I have read and it most certainly will not be my last.
