This YA rom-com follows Sunny Dae, a nerdy teen who impulsively pretends to be in a rock band to impress the new cool girl in town, Cirrus. Before he knows it, Sunny is knee-deep in his lies and has to question if he'll be able to keep up a fake version of himself and a real relationship with Cirrus.⁣

I listened to Super Fake Love Song on audio and it was such a fun listen! I loved that the main character is into LARP and prop-making. This book is definitely about first love, but also about the pressure to be "cool," family, friendship, embracing your true self, and music (especially love songs). ⁣

Much like Frankly in Love, Super Fake Love Song has #OwnVoices Korean-American rep and is full of banter & wit! If you liked David Yoon's debut, you'll definitely want to check this one out.⁣ It'll also be a big hit with fans of Gloria Chao and Maurene Goo.
