I'm not a huge YA fan to begin with and this story did not draw me in at all. A bit too cliched for my tastes with the poor, woe-is-me, high school nerd trope. I am also not a fan of when a character is telling about his plight instead of showing. The humor felt weak and forced. I just wasn't impressed, but then again, I'm clearly not the target audience either.
