Wow, this sounds like a great read!
I decided to check this First Look out because the premise seemed unusual. Your typical "chosen one finds there's a whole magical world existing alongside the mundane one" trope is pretty played out, but still often an enjoyable story. But, when I started reading Sunderworld, I was surprised by the emotional depth it conveyed in the first few chapters. Perhaps it was just reader-identifying-with-character, but I really enjoyed the POV of the main character, and could sympathize with Larry/Leopold. I enjoyed the complexity of the set-up, the "am I going crazy" sort of delirium that would be expected of seeing the fantastical in the mundane.
Unfortunately, the first look ended just as the hook was starting to unravel, so now I'm hankering for the rest!
