"Seeing into Sunder" as Leopold refers to it, is a 'doubt inducing' coming of age analogy that is stressful and concerning in a number of ways but a wild ride that does service to the complexity of its subject matter. The father is almost appealingly unlikeable (especially if you like the main character at all) and serves as a distraction as you sink further into the question of if Sunder is real. A very odd and unsettling but incredibly interesting story that I'm curious to see where it goes. (Which I have no doubt will be travelled in a straightforward fashion.)
