3.5 stars but I'm rounding up because the book made me reach outside my comfort zone.

Although I love pretty words, I don't usually read poetry because it usually takes your heart to understand it, rather than your mind, and I read to escape from my feelings. That being said, this poetry in modern free verse and organized into four broad categories: Buddhist Hotline, Honeypot, Concerned on Behalf of the Universe, and Lightwork. The first is very spiritual and ponders about love and meaning, which segues into the second part, which kind of talks about how love is his meaning, a lot of the time. Concerned on Behalf of the Universe is about a person and his connection to the world around him (if everything else is going bad, is he?) and sun memos finishes with Lightwork as a lighter and more reflective bout of poems.

I read this in between two of my classes and usually that time makes me restless, just some time where it's too short to do anything done, but long enough you feel guilty for not doing anything, but this collection was really soothing. It left the effect of calm for the rest of the day, and although I didn't find it to be anything special, I'm grateful for the brief sense of tranquility it brought me.
